--------------------------------------------

PRS launches Camp Paranormal, part of Paranormal University, where attendees have the opportunity to enroll in to one of the four departments within PRS and receive training/hands-on experience.  Attendees will be paired up with other like-minded “students” in to their own house.  You will attend workshops, participate in group activities and games, perform mock and real investigations and more!  Each department focuses on a specific aspect of paranormal research.  Within their assigned department, attendees will take workshops on various subjects/topics like occult symbolism, demonology, tech research, interviewing clients, historical research, psychology & the paranormal, skepticism 101 & more.  Attendees will obtain hands-on experience by conducting a mock-investigation (complete with tech setup, interviews and more), historical research and more.  On the “paranormal” side of things, those wishing to go further will have the option of participating in a real investigation in the Raleigh area.

Enrollment is easy.  Simply fill out the registration form and pay your deposit (for your convenience you’ll be able to pay in monthly installments, or you can pay upfront if you prefer).  When you register you’ll be asked to answer questions pertaining to your interests in the paranormal.  A few weeks after signing up, you will be contacted by a Para-University representative who will help construct a suggested workshop schedule based on your interests.  You will also gain access to a private CMS website where you will get to meet fellow Para-University attendees, sign-up for special projects, learn more about each workshop and more.

Once you arrive at the Camp, you will settle in to your department cabin.  You will attend orientation, participate in team-building exercises, enjoy games and down-time,
attend workshops, participate in paranormal study groups and much more!

You have the option of signing up for 3 or 7 days of training.
3 DAYS: Friday – Sunday (March 1-3rd, 2013)
7 DAYS: Friday – Thursday (March 1-7th, 2013)

For those signing up for the three days, you will get an overview of some of your favorite subjects and perhaps be exposed to a few you didn’t know you loved.  For those attending the seven day retreat, you will not only get much more exposure, but you’ll have a full week to be with the PRS family.

THE FOUR ‘CAMPS’:

You will ultimately be assigned to one of the four research departments of PRS.  Don’t worry, you will all be able to sign up for the same courses.  You will have the opportunity to talk with a representative after you pay your deposit to find out which department best suits your interests.  Think of your department like a house of like-minded people or a group of students under a college major.  All of you have different interests but a common thread of similar goals.

Here are the following houses you will be assigned to:

a) Field Investigation & Research (FIR): involves ghosts, hauntings and all other non-lab based research.  Strong emphasis on interviewing, circumstantial evidence and paranormal theory.

b) Parapsychology & Technological Research (PLT): Involves the study of the mind, psychokinesis, psychic phenomenon, meditation and all other forms of research that can be placed in a controlled environment or have repeatable results.  Involves developing and issuing research on psychic accuracy to testing the latest technological breakthroughs (such as the God Helmet, EMF studies, Ganzfeld, Spirit Box, etc.)

c) Spirituality & Occult Research (SOR): Involves the study of religion, theology, mythology and occultism.  Large emphasis on historical and academic research.  Delves in to Paganism, Shamanism, Satanism (traditional and modern), demonology, Judaism, Christianity and more.

d) General Society Department (GSD): For those who want an overview of all three departments and wish to contribute to all three.  GSD attendee are technicians, special interest researchers and also delve in to areas not traditionally covered by the first three departments.  Those wishing to pursue other avenues within the paranormal can help identify these interests ahead of time and a custom program can be created for them within the courses offered.

ORIENTATION
:    During orientation you will be given a tour of the camp, which comprises of a lake, a labyrinth, outdoor spiritual center, trails, sports activity field, cemetery and much more.  You will go over certain rules as well as goals for the weekend or week.  You will also hear great stories from the instructors.

They are very diverse, including, “Interviewing,” “Psychology & the Paranormal,” “Demonology,” “Occult Symbolism,” “Paranormal Theory,” “Parapsychology Intro,” “Cryptozoology,” “Poltergeist Phenomenon,” “Documenting a Unexplained Phenomenon,” “Critical Thinking & Skepticism,” “Paranormal History” and more.
